Athletics

Campers are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of sports at Hi-Hills. Focus is on skill development as well as sportsmanship and an understanding of the rules of the particular game. Hi-Hills has seven tennis courts, four soccer fields and new baseball and softball fields. Soccer, softball, baseball, flag football, volleyball, outdoor street hockey and basketball games are part of the program. All bunks receive athletic instruction twice a week that are age and skill appropriate.
Created by our own Hi-Hill’s Athletic Director is a program called Leagues. Leagues are for campers 10 and up and provide a more competitive atmosphere while encouraging sportsmanship and fair play. Leagues are determined by the number of players in the bunks that wish to participate. Coaches are chosen from the staff and teams are formed with care taken to see that teams are fair in number and talent. The first week is used to determine the camper’s ability before choosing teams. Once the teams have been determined, the campers create a team shirt with their new team name. Small trophies are given at the end of the season to the winning teams.
