Summer Employment Opportunities
Camp staff hours are 8:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. five days a week for up to eight weeks. Hi-Hills 2012 dates are June 25 through August 17. Camp is closed Wednesday July 4. Counselors are hired based on camp enrollment. Staff training is mandatory and training is scheduled for:
June 10, 16 and 17, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Head Counselors:
Overview:
A Head Counselor will assume overall responsibility for the success of an assigned bunk group. With assistance from a bunk counselor and support from a bunk supervisor each head counselor will lead a group of children through their camp day, optimizing their experience of the Hi-Hills Day Camp Program.
Requirements:
- Needs to have completed at least one year of College or over 21 years of age
- Previous experience supervising peers and young adults
- Previous experience working with children in a camp setting, or similar environment
- Enthusiastic, adaptable and organized with a good use of initiative and excellent communication skills
- Ability to inspire and lead a group of children
- Sound knowledge and understanding of CAMP
Specialist Counselors:
Overview:
Specialty Program Counselors will plan, organize and deliver assigned specialty programs at Hi-Hills Day Camp.
Specialty Sessions Available:
- Music
- Martial Arts
- Arts & Crafts
- Drama
Requirements:
- Needs to have completed at least one year of College or over 21 years of age
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Specialty Program and CAMP.
- Previous experience supervising adults and peers.
- Previous experience working with children in a camp setting, or similar environment.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable and organized with a good use of initiative and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and lead a group of children.

LIFEGUARD
Applicants must possess up-to-date lifeguard certification by the beginning of camp. Applicants must work well with children and be able to teach fundamental swimming skills. Lifeguards will work with campers ranging in age from 3½ to 14. Lifeguards assist with greeting our campers in the morning and helping them to their bunks as well as assisting counselors on rainy days.
