Director of Summer and Auxiliary Programs
A graduate of Rhode Island College, Cindy is looking forward to her sixth summer with Hi-Hills Day Camp at Gill St. Bernard’s. As a mother of three, Cindy enjoys watching children of all ages learn, explore and challenge themselves. Prior to Hi-Hills, Cindy was the Athletic Director and Summer Programs Director for Wardlaw-Hartridge School where she received certification as a AAI/ISM personal trainer and Red Cross certifications in CPR, First Aid and as a Lifeguard. Office Manager and Transportation Coordinator
Beth joined Hi-Hills Day Camp in 2003 as a head counselor in the Kinder Camp. In 2012 she became Kinder Camp Supervisor and at the end of the summer joined the Gill St. Bernard’s staff full time as the Transportation Coordinator. Beth has an AA in Early Childhood Education and a BA (Hons) Degree in Psychology. Assistant Director of Summer and Auxiliary Programs
Hi-Hills is proud to announce the appointment of Nicole Spiotta as the new assistant director of summer and auxiliary programs. Spiotta is a graduate of Drew University and holds a degree in political science. Her responsibilities at camp include supporting Camp Director Cindy Wyatt in the day-to-day operations of Hi-Hills and all summer programs. In addition to her many years of experience managing camps and sports clinics, Spiotta also has an extensive career in softball, serving as both a player and a coach. Spiotta, who played Division III softball with Drew, currently coaches at Raritan Valley Community College. She also manages her own business, which offers private softball instruction and DJ Entertainment and volunteers her coaching experience with younger girls, through local recreational and town programs. Program Operations Coordinator
John is going into his eighth year at Hi-Hills Day Camp. He is a Special Education Teacher at Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Edison, NJ. John is entering his 14th year at Woodrow and loves working with children and watching them succeed. John and his wife, Jen, have a son, Robert who also attends Hi-Hills. Program Operations Coordinator
Marc has taught 6th and 7th grade English for 16 years at Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Edison. During that time he has been head coach of the girls’ soccer team for 12 seasons and head coach of the girls’ basketball squad for 9 seasons. Last year was Marc’s 14th year at Hi-Hills Day Camp. Division Coordinator – Aquatics
Augie holds a B.S. and M.S. in physical education and has been teaching for 29 years, currently teaching physical education and health at Bridgewater Raritan Middle School. He has coached and taught swimming for 20 years and has his water safety instructor certification from the Red Cross. Division Coordinator – Kindercamp
Kathleen is returning for her 2nd summer with the Hi-Hills Day Camp as the Kinder Camp Division Coordinator. Kathleen is currently a Pre-K teacher at Gill St. Bernard’s School and has worked closely with the Pre-K through Kindergarten age group. Kathleen’s creativity and soothing personality allow for a fun-filled and learning atmosphere for the kindercampers. Kathleen and her family reside in Gladstone. Division Coordinator – CIT
This will be Mindy’s 19th year returning to Hi-Hills Day Camp. In previous years Mindy has served as a head counselor in Kindercamp, Special Events Director as well as Supervisor of the Counselor in Training Program. Mindy has also been a teacher in the Newark Public School System for 17 years. Mindy loves being creative and encouraging others just to have fun. Activity Specialist – Arts and Crafts
Brian is entering his second year of Hi-Hills Day Camp. To the camp team he is known as the jack of all trades; if he’s not cooking, he’s teaching pottery, or he’s driving a bus, and always willing to lend a hand. Brian is a full time employee for Gill St. Bernard’s School where he is a cook by day, arts and crafts instructor by night. Brian has many creative talents not to mention a fun-filled personality. Activity Specialist – Nature
Chuck earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Kean University. Known by the camp staff as Mr. Nature, Chuck is a 2nd grade teacher at Bedminster School and runs the school’s science club. Chuck was named Teacher of the Year for the 2012-2013 school year. Chuck enjoys fishing, hiking, and keeping exotic pets. Hi-Hills is excited to have Mr. Nature back for his 15th summer!
